Hi Cara!!! I´m really overjoyed to participate in this blog. Feel free to share your opinion about the wide range of topics we will deal with and please, don´t forget to correct all my mistakes and teach me as many nice expressions and idioms as you want. You can suggest to me titles for my articles, I promise, I´ll do my best...so, let´s start with my first article.. I have chosen this issue as we both, share our enthusiam in the educational world, so I think we can put forward our analysis in a decade in which crisis is affecting essential parcels of the human race.
Last year I read Isabel Allende´s article saying: "I think that the time is ripe to make fundamental changes in our civilization".Do you agree with that?? From my point of view any difficulty you have to face in your life, helps you consider pros and cons about your way of living, your behaviour, your priorites and so forth, however, don´t you think there are so shallow people unabled to deal with this topic in depth??
In terms of education, everything should be done the earlier, the better, it is our responsability to step the foot into the acelerator. No way, can government manipulate education, nor can government save banks, economy and close his eyes on issues such as public education and public health system...However, what impressed me most this year, you know I occupy the head of studies post, is the real crisis of effort and values...when you are working with human beings you shouldn´t measure your devotion, you should dare to give the best of yourself, to be creative. We don´t really imitate people who really worth. I´m sure there are lots of heros around us, perhaps, we cannot reach their level of humanity, but we can fight in favour of justice, loyalty and freedom in our current decisions, in our daily routine...moreover, I feel proud of amazing people who dare to show their projects and thoughts all around the world, the vast majority of them are fed up with complaints and do their best to make an almost perfect world. Why don´t we try to suppor their brilliant ideas and ambitions and forget all politicians´suggestions??

I'm posting a sample question from the CAE test, writing section. The response should be about 250 words. Next time we meet we'll talk some more about test structure; as well as go over mistakes in the response.

Give a description of the food, and some of its history, saying on what occasions it is eaten, and include a brief description of how to prepare it. Also give a summary of the culinary tradition in your country.
Exam notes:
- Start by congratulating your friend on the idea.
- Then you can describe what kind of food is preferred in your country.
- Say which food you have chosen and why.
- Remember to explain when it is eaten.
(For example roast beef and baked potatoes are usually eaten in England for Sunday dinner.)
- Give some cooking instructions, but remember to be brief
- Stress the most important thing about preparing the meal
(For example with roast beef the length of cooking time is crucial)
